Ce western épique et plein d'action raconte l'incroyable histoire vraie de Bass Reeves, le premier marschall noir du Far West. Après avoir échappé à l'esclavage après la guerre civile, il arrive en Arkansas à la recherche d'un emploi dans le domaine de la justice.
