Overview
Weil man zu klein zur Welt kommt, ist man noch lange nicht zu klein für die Welt. Das sagt sich die kleine Fern und nimmt sich des schwächsten der frisch geborenen Ferkel auf der Zuckerman-Farm an. Wilbur nennt sie den Kleinen und pflegt ihn, bis er stark genug für den Stall ist und damit auch für das größte Abenteuer seines Lebens. Denn nicht nur ein streitlustiger Haufen Tiere erwartet ihn, sondern auch die Erkenntnis, dass er in nicht allzu langer Zeit als Braten enden dürfte - außer es geschieht ein Wunder. Und Wunder sind die Spezialität der weisen Spinne Charlotte, die oben im Stallgebälk wohnt und zu Wilburs Schutzengel wird. Sie muss ihn nur zu etwas 'Besonderem' machen, um ihm sein sicheres Schicksal zu ersparen.
