"Criminal - Wielki przekręt" to historia o podobnej formule do "Dziewięciu królowych", opowiadająca historię dwóch drobnych oszustów, wiecznie kręcących coś na boku. Tym razem akcja dzieje się w Los Angeles. Rodrigo (Diego Luna) jest drobnym szulerem, zaś Richard (John C. Reilly) doświadczonym i cynicznym oszustem, który zna się na przestępstwach, jakby czytał w otwartej księdze. Wkrótce obaj dopiszą do niej kolejny rozdział. Richard i Rodrigo mogą zgarnąć 750 000 dolarów jeśli tylko uda im się przechytrzyć bogatego kolekcjonera, sprzedając mu doskonale podrobioną srebrną obligację Monroe'a. Ich podstęp jest jak labirynt, jednak plan jest daleki od doskonałości...
