Overview
Der humorlose Detective Mitch Preston vom Los Angeles Police Department ist ein ungeduldiger Mann, der nie viele Worte macht. Patrol Officer Trey Sellars ist nur Polizist geworden, weil er als Schauspieler keinen Erfolg hat – viel lieber würde er einen Cop auf dem Bildschirm spielen. Eines Nachts stolpert Trey ahnungslos in eine Undercover-Aktion, mit der Mitch nach Monaten der Vorbereitung einen Drogendealerring sprengen will. Die Verdächtigen fliehen, und als Sekunden später auch noch ein TV-News-Team am Tatort erscheint, ist Mitch derart frustiert, dass er einen Schuss auf die Kamera abgibt. Am nächsten Tag erscheint Mitchs Bild in allen Tageszeitungen, und das unverhoffte Medienecho trägt ihm eine saftige Rüge seines Vorgesetzten ein...
